Falmouth is the sailing capital of Cornwall and with a spectacular deep water natural harbour with a unique mix of attractions. You can enjoy all sorts of sailing and other water sports or one of Falmouth’s four family friendly beaches (Gyllingvase, Castle, Swanpool and Maenporth). Visit the Falmouth National Maritime Museum Cornwall or enjoy the panoramic view from Pendennis Castle. Finding something to eat in Falmouth is far too easy – whether you enjoy the fish at Rick Steins restaurant or take away, take the kids to the Harbour Lights Restaurant (where fish and chips are served in a bucket that you can take home with you) or simply relax in one the towns small independent delis – one of our favourites is Picnic in Falmouth (www.picniccornwall.co.uk) which sources fantastic Cornish produce and (as its name suggests) can also provide a picnic for a day out or time at the beach. There is something good for everyone.
Falmouth holds many annual events that are a must for locals and visitors alike, including the Fal River Festival, Sea Shanty and Oyster Festivals.
